VISION: TO SUPPLY ONLINE WORLD- CLASS WEATHER-RELATED INFORMATION AND LEARNING MATERIAL IN A SIMPLE, HIGHLY UNDERSTANDABLE FORMAT TO SCHOOLS AND PEOPLE INTERESTED IN WEATHER. THIS WILL ENABLE THEM TO INTERPRET THE WEATHER SO THAT IT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO IMPORTANT DECISIONS AND PROSPERITY IN THEIR FIELD OF ACTIVITIES.

1. BACKGROUND

The majority of people are dependent on the weather for various reasons -farming, travel, holiday, gardening,

aviation, surfing, sailing and many more. People in the insurance business could benefit- to make sure what happened

during claims for damages to houses, buildings, agriculture,etc. For some industries the weather is of vital importance for

construction,maintenance, environmental management, etc. Other people make a study of the weather- just because it

interest them.

The important point is- some or other time all of us need to know what the weather-situation is.

Information on the weather is widely available- in papers, tv, the internet, mobile phones and many more. The problem is

that, by far, the majority of us don't know how to interpret this and how to use these information to help us in our

activities. Some of these information is in a very difficult meteorological language which we don't understand anyway.

It is thus important that:

* We at least know the basics of weather.

* We know how to interpret weather information.

* We know how to implement weather information in our activities.

* We already start at school level to achieve this.

* Special attention being given to the people in emerging situations.

* Consideration is given to issue an informal weather certificate.

These six aspects will be the main purpose of The Weather School .

2. THE PURPOSE OF THE WEATHER SCHOOL

* The primary purpose of The Weather School will be to provide very simple, highly understandable weather-

related information on an online bases free to the man in the street dependent and interested in the weather. He/she

will get the basic knowledge of weather, interpretation and application thereof for his/her business and activities.

* This school is not for the meteorologist.

* One of the most important uses of The Weather School will be by school children and school teachers for weather related projects for the subject

Geography. Teachers are welcome to contact me for special content to be included for their projects.

* Special projects wiil be introduced for kids.
